Last year, I lost my mum to ovarian cancer, and it’s something that has had a huge impact on my life. Losing someone you love to cancer is something you never truly prepare yourself for, and it leaves a hole that can never be filled.

Since losing Mum, this cause has become close to my heart. I’ve wanted to find a way to do something positive in her memory, something that would make her proud and help other families who are going through, or may one day go through, the same heartbreaking experience.

For me, pool has always been a huge part of my life, and it was something Mum loved me doing. That’s why I feel it’s only right to use the game I love, and the platform I’ve been fortunate enough to build, to try and make a difference.

This challenge is about so much more than pool. It’s about raising money and helping to raise awareness of an illness that affects so many families, and doing whatever I can to support a cause that now means so much to me personally.

If taking on this challenge can help raise money for research, support those affected by cancer, or encourage even one person to learn more about the symptoms and seek medical advice, then every bit of effort will be worth it.

I know I can’t bring my mum back, and I would give anything in the world to have her here with me, but if I can turn something so heartbreaking into something positive and help other people along the way, then that’s exactly what I want to do.
